5 Organizing Tips to Feel Like You've Already Got it Together in 2022

We made it to 2022! Starting off a new year always brings us fresh, new energy and reminds us to get a little reorganized. Whether it's putting our files in the right place or streamlining some procedures, we are big fans of making even the smallest tweaks for efficiency.

Keep reading for our top five easy tips that will make you feel like you've got it all together as you hit the ground running in the new year.

1. Start Small

Just because you want to overhaul your organization tactics, that doesn't mean it needs to be done overnight! Start small by writing down a few things that take priority in your organization status and start there. Give yourself a timeline - it can be even a week or month - to complete the task so you aren't overwhelmed.

2. Organize Computer Files

If you're reading this and cringed inwardly just a little bit because your desktop folders look a little psycho, this one is for you. Go through your folders to organize files, upload files no longer needed to hard drives and establish a space for future incoming files to go.

3. Establish a Home for Specific Items

We love the rule, "Don’t bring anything new into your home unless you know where you’re going to keep it." It's a game-changer when thinking about de-cluttering the home or having a place for things to go. Start by establishing areas for certain items in your home. It will help keep you organized and allow you to find those items in a pinch.

4. Don't Let Mail Pile Up

Anyone else overwhelmed by mail? Instead of letting it pile up after a week or even a month, try this: every time a piece of mail or paper comes into your home, act on it right away. Either file it, put it in an action place or toss it.

5. Utilize A Master Calendar

We are huuuuuge fans of utilizing calendars at SPPR to keep us organized. They are honestly game-changers and live-savers when it comes to reminders. We have calendars at work that keep us organized for personal use and then team calendars to slot in travel and PTO. Being able to see what we have in the works at a glance is essential for keeping projects on track and managing schedules.
